steering wheel volume controls...why is this designed for right hand use?

Anyone else have an issue with the volume buttons being located on the right side of the steering wheel?
(I'm coming from a Toyota but I believe most manufacturers I've seen have the volume controls on the left side of the steering wheel.)

If I'm gonna use my right hand to control the volume, then it's basically just as easy to use the rotary control on the dash radio.

Wonder if there is a way to switch this (and the channel buttons) to be able to use the left hand to control the volume like almost every other manufacturer?
Anyone try this...or care about it (LOL, It may be just my OCD)?

Seeing as the buttons are behind the wheel, I forget they are there and use the knob like someone from the 1900's

Definitely an annoyance...wish they were on the left side also. Seems kinda dumb to me...
