Speaker question

Just a quick follow up. I had the Alpine R2-s69c (dash and front doors) and the Alpine R2-S69 (rear doors) installed in my truck today. They are playing off the stock Alpine amp in my truck. They sound absolutely incredible!! I cant believe how impressive the soundstage is. 20 is the loudest that I went. The bass was shaking, no distortion. Theres no need (for me) to go any louder than that. Even though they are 85RMS speakers, the 50 watts per channel is plenty!

The rears are coaxial, and the FILL the back seat with sound, and spill into the front a little bit. Its like being completely surrounded.

I was planning on doing a second stage with an Optim8 amp and sub. The guys at the car audio place told me they didnt think that I needed the new amp. I totally agree. They basically kissed $1,700 goodbye by making that recommendation.

If you are in the Houston area, Bico Stereo is the place to go. They did my last Ram also.

All in, it was $750 and worth every penny

PS. I didnt use an ANC bypass harness, and there is no interference at all in the sound. Not sure if its because everything was Alpine
Yes that is because you are using the stock amp which is integrated into the over all system. The ANC issues come about when you use the factory wiring and adding an amp to the system that did not have one in the first place. That is when you need to bypass the ANC. Otherwise you have to run speaker wires from the back of the stereo to an amp and then back out to the individual speaker, which you have to run the wiring through the molex in the doors to get to the speakers. Which is a complete PITA. I used a loopback wiring system which I had to bypass the ANC.

If I’m not mistaken, aren’t the r2-s69 rated at 100 rms?

i have not ran alpine in a long time. i tried those infinity 6x9's in my truck they were better than stock and i only paid 70 bucks for them they are 100 watts rms. i ended up going with JL Audio C2-690tx and they sound awesome on same amp. i guess you do kinda get what you pay for.
looking at the specs those alpines sensitivity is 90db/100 watts the jl's are 93db/70 watts rms. i don't think most can stand the JL's at full power.
Crutchfield said they don't fit but they fit in my truck just fine i took off the rubber magnet boot.

about to close up the only way i see it again is if there is a problem, looks good sounds great.
for some reason they look crooked in the pics but i actually used a level

the alpine system is not bad at all but in case anyone cares or don't know. with the alpine or harmon system the factory amp is crossed over in the amp and can't be changed so the door speakers actually play lo/mid bass no mid range the dash is mid/high the headliner is also mid/high, swapping the 6x9's in the door's to 2 way or 3 way's won't help at all unless you change the factory amp. ya can't just throw any speakers in and have a improvement. it's really all or nothing IMO when you "upgrade" the stereo.
that being said man my chit sounds GOOD. super clen sound awesome front stage no need for the center channel or headliner speakers at all. you do loose the surround function and the speed adjust volume. i don't miss either. i don't consider my system a budget build but the sky's the limit on audio so you can spend less or more it's up to you. i'm keeping my truck for a long time so i kinda went all out for my budget.
i installed everything myself i actually did installs for a living for a short time, not hard but it took some time
