Spacer Questions

Hi all,
I’m too broke to get offset rims right now so I had a couple of questions about spacers.

First, could I do 1” front and 1.25” rear on stock 2019 Laramie 18’s. Would this require any lug trimming or other modification?

Second, aside from slowing traffic because of how awesome they look, are there any negatives caused by spacers the size I’m thinking? TIA!

What is your goal for the spacers? If you want a wider stance you would want to go with a 2" or more.
I did BORA 1.5"F and 2"R and they poke out the same 1-1.5" outside the fenders on my Rebel. The front end has a wider track than the rear.

Thanks! Yes, just looking for a slightly wider stance, pretty much flush with the fenders.

Are Spacers safer to use than adapters?.. I hear people say the “adding another point of failure” a lot. Are the washer type safer to use in General?... I’m taking smaller fitment to clear UCA’s with bigger tires.. 1/4”-1/2”.

Same thing basically. Adapters have studs in them, some spacers are thin and just bump your wheel out 10-25mm. In this case you would still want hub centric spacers and longer upgraded studs for a 2500
No trimming is required unless you are going to use an adapter less than 1", but there are recesses in the RAM wheel to accommodate some lug protrusions

No, the factory wheels actually have pockets for the wheel studs if need be. The studs only extended a couple mm at most on the 1.5” spacers.

When you get the level kit you need to get some 35x12.50R20 tires, these trucks have large wheelwells and need a beefy tire to make up the space, you can’t do wimpy tires when you level the front and you also don’t need a spacer to clear the uca, attached is my 19 Bighorn with Bilstein front at 2” and rear lifted 1-1/2” , tires pertrude about 3/4” past fender with no spacers

Yes , my 14 did but 19 doesn’t there’s probably 1/4” of space between the tire and UCA

Also depends on what tire size you go with, mine are 35x12.50R 20 Thunderer Ranger ATr
