will honk three times if I lock the truck with the passenger door open, waiting for my wife to close the door. It only happens occasionally. Anyone have an idea why this happens?

I think it’s supposed to be designed that way so you don’t lock it with a door open ( just a friendly reminder sorta )

Looks like I left off one piece of information. It doesn't honk until the door is closed.
