I didnt buy mine (19 Big Horn 4x4, 5.7 eTorque) with mileage in mind, but I am getting 20 local/combined driving and 25 on extended trips, I certainly wont complain. I traded in a V6 Pontiac G8 that struggled to get similar mileage.

Lmao!! I know!! It was horrid when I test drove that glorious from the outside yet awful on the inside AT4
just joking around because I really think all the big 3 make really good trucks but that's the one area the Ram's really stand out! ;)

......in our 2018 Escalade with the 6.2L/10-speed and averaged 21.3 mpg fully loaded down doing 80 mph......

My rebel gets 14 mpg doing 65.....in a vehicle that weighs less and has 25 fewer ponies under the hood. Anyone else have a bit of buyers remorse due to the horrendous mpg??
The Rebel has the 392 gears which we all know. At 80 mph I’m running around 2250 rpm’s. The Escalade with the 10 speed should be running somewhere around 1800. Drop it down a gear or 2 so you are setting at the same rpm as your truck. I imagine you will loose a little on mileage.
Jump in a Ram with the 321 gears and at 75mph you are setting at roughly 1650 rpm’s. Heck, I only drove it for a couple of days, but if you are running 2150 rpms with the 321 gears I am not sure what the speed would be, but well over 80mph.
I have been on long stretches where I could only run 65, flat terrain. The Rebel gave back 18.5. It just seems when I get to that 2100/75 mph mark it’s all downhill on mpg. 15 average on trips out to W Texas, all 806 miles of it

I'll probably regret doing this...

Just drove from Rochester (NY) to Waterloo, NY, via state roads Rt 104, to Rt 21, to Rt96. No speeds over 60 mph. A few small towns were 35-40 mph. For the most part this was a fairly level, north-to-south drive. Cluster told me I averaged 27.4 miles per gallon, hand calculation was 27.02.

Yes, I have a 5.7 Quad Cab, 3.21 gears and two-wheel drive. Yes, this was the highest I ever recorded. My average day-to-day for the last three weeks has been 21.2.

As an aside, regardless of the weight and horsepower difference, I'm not sure Rebel-to-Escalade is a fair comparison.

Regards,
Dusty

I also have an '18 Escalade ESV and get 22 highway and 16 city. My '19 Limited gets about 14 city/19highway -- much worse than my '17 Ram Sport. Don't know what they did, but they need to improve their engine management for better mpg.

It’s clearly the rebels that suffer. The height. No air dam. 3.92 diff. Tires. I get it. Just sayin

Yeah, that has to really add up. I did a 2200 mile trip from SoCal to Oregon and back when my
truck barely had 2k on the odometer. 75-80 mph on the freeway on the way up through a lot of
mountain inclines and then on the way home south of SF 4 hours on a windy coastal highway with
some stops along the way. The truck did 20-22 the whole trip, I was pretty impressed, 4 people and
bed full of luggage, cooler, etc too. I'm sure the tires, 2x drive, air dam, ride height, tonneau cover and
3.21 gears all helped.

That seems low @ 65 MPH, even with oversized tires and the 3.92,

I just came back from a trip to Florida, and @ 70 MPH I averaged 19.46 MPG loaded with four adults and the bed full of stuff.
At 65, I would have easily been >20 or even 21 MPG.

Here’s the Fuelly log. The 19.46 was all highway, while the other two had some city.

I just finished a 5875 miles San Diego to hags Head and back on a new Laramie with 3.92 Gears (4x4 and off road package) and a full bed of luggage and camping gear and I averaged 18. Filled up with 89 octane always (but most times it stated at least 10% ethanol). Basically stayed within 3 or 4 miles over the speed limit. I found that I got the best mileage at 72 or less anything higher you could watch the avg mpg go down.

You're barking up the wrong tree. I've noticed a lot of people on these forums are pretty dismissive over the MPG for one reason or another. I deal with it because I love everything else about the truck, but it is pretty poor comparatively.

That's 100% city driving. On the interstate doing 75-80 MPH I get around 18 MPG I believe. The average has crept up to around 12 MPG now that I've switched to mostly driving in 2WD rather than 4WD Auto.

I definitely wish I would've done the 2020 eco diesel instead of the hemi...I get 18mpg tops in my 20 Laramie ORP. Hoping that when I move to 35s it will increase highway mpg as I'll run at lower rpms at highway speeds

Traded in my 2019 limited 5.7 because I was sick of the **** poor mileage. Got a 2020 EcoDiesel and am seeing 28-30mpg consistantly. Love it! And diesel fuel is cheaper currently in Ontario.

Coming from a 2006 V6 2WD Grand Cherokee that only got around 18mpg and a 2016 Subaru Forester that got about 22mpg I'm ecstatic that my 4WD V6 Rebel gets the same as that old Grand Cherokee did. In fact, if I watch myself I can average a full 20mpg

Rollinit when you go to bigger tires your mpg will go down not up. More weight to move and less aero
Around town that's true but unsprung weight isnt nearly as big an issue when you are at constant velocity (it's hard on acceleration) so adding 35s will drop my gear ratio from 3.92 to probably around 3.6 or 3.7 which should result in an extra mpg or so. If I could constantly hit 20 mpg on highway I would be alright with that

Going to 35's will drop your mpg, even on the highway.

Not sure where I saw it, maybe TFL, but it made sense. It seems like Ram just submitted one truck to the EPA for certification and used that mpg for all the window stickers on all Hemis. So we don't know how it was made. I understand that to some people it's an issue but we also bought a truck. I think they found Chevrolet to give different MPG reports for individual trucks.

When comparing the Rebel to the Escalade you're really comparing apples to oranges. I'd assume my truck would get similar results to a stock Rebel since I've got the ORG and I was averaging 18.5 running around i85/285/75 yesterday. That's not too bad w/ the 3.92. That was with two adults, two children, and our luggage for a few days. Plus my truck is heavy w/ a payload of only 1125. I'm sure if you slapped the 3.21 gears into my truck I'd be above 20. I'm sure once I level my truck and put some bigger tires on my MPG will take a hit.
