Slam goes the Trans!!

I had this happen two or three times when I first got my truck (in the first 700 miles) but then never again since. Weird.

At about 2400 miles now.

Hi Granite5thgen,
We're sorry to hear about the issues you are having with your new Ram. If this continues to happen and would like to contact your dealer about this issue, send us a private message and we would be more than happy to add an extra layer of assistance to you during this process.

Thank you

I had this happen when I got out to grab the mail. I do it about everyday and it has only happened once. Had the truck for 3 weeks now.

On the drivers side of your truck open the front door and its stamped on the sticker in your door jamb. Your payload and other information is there as well.

Mine and other folks' new RAM trucks are doing it too, as documented in below link to Forum thread related to this exact same problem... So that's at least three (3) forum threads here documenting this safety issue. Plus all the other people who now own these trucks and are not active on this forum. Must be hundreds/thousands of trucks affected??

Any word of anyone that has had a fix yet.. my truck is a week old has 300 miles and has done it 5 times already..

No joy from my visit to the dealership. They added 3/4 quart of fluid and checked for TSB's, but "couldn't replicate the problem". Got my truck back yesterday after a week in the shop for the subject problem, the brake pedal V07 recall, a get-ready issue, and a couple of suspension-related problems. Today my truck slammed from P into D again after I backed into a spot. Doesn't matter whether I Reverse into a spot or Drive into a spot, nor does it matter whether the truck is hot or cold. I will open another case with FCA if/when it happens again and make another appointment with the dealership.
