Anyone out there running a side exit exhaust? I'm looking at adding after market bumpers without the cutouts and wonder if anyone has done it so far? I'm interested in running a larger mudflap and apparently the hot exhaust causes a few issues.

Behind the wheels should be fine, it's probably the most common exhaust tip location for must trucks made.. I would avoid the front of the wheels which can dull your wheels over time. The muffler tips aren't usually that hot, especially coming from so far back, even on my sports car, my center exit tips are about 1/8th of an inch from the plastic bumper cover and zero issues melting or damage. Just being conservative, 1/4 to half an inch gap to your mud flaps should be enough to avoid any damage.
