2021 E-torque 1500 here. 82k on the odometer. We had snow here in North Alabama around 3.5” and I decided to venture out and check the roads. Backed out of carport and shifted into 4H and went about my business. Rode around in some heavy slush for about 10 minutes and get home to park and truck will shift to park, but the light is blinking and I have an error message stating truck not in park, service transmission, apply parking brake and a service auto/stop start. I've tried cranking back up and sometimes truck will die, I'll crank again and it will run just fine. It’s never done this before in the snow. So I set the parking brake and disconnected the negative battery cable and will hook it back up in an hour or so and see what happens I guess. Any ideas on what it could be? I didn’t notice any hard or abnormal shifts and the transfer case shifts out of 4H back to 2wd with no issues..

Have you changed the battery? Low voltage will cause all sorts of havoc. Any rear window/ RF module issues?

Did it start working better when you re-connected the battery?

Possible your park/neutral override lever on the side of the transmission is being held by ice/debris.

I had a similar issue after my area experienced some bad floods and I hit some standing water at speed that I didn't see in the dark. there's a large connector under the truck along the frame rail near the location of the driver seat that is vulnerable to heavy splashing. its possible some of the slush got inside that connector and is causing your issue, as it was mine. its pretty easy to separate that connection and see if there's any water in there.
worth a try taking a peek.

Fairly new battery, I swapped it in last summer. I'm thinking that the park/neutral override lever got jammed up like @Cbty2050 said. Reconnected the negative cable after about 3 or 4 hours and everything was fine.

Good to hear it's working again. I'll have to keep an eye on mine the next few days, as we've had some decent snow and it's melting/re-freezing a bunch. I long for the days of mechanical connection with important things like the transmission.
