how do you disable seat belt chime on a 2023 ram 1500 limited?

It's the same procedure as the earlier ones, but you have to do it like 5 times in a row instead of 3. Search for the procedure as I don't remember exactly.

It would be nice if the old seatbelt chime procedure worked on the 23's with the digital EVIC, but it doesn't. Unfortunately, nobody has figured out a way to cancel the chime, yet. Your dealer can do it, but most are reluctant.

so does this mean it is off permanently? and does it work for both driver and passenger?

The seatbelt trick does not work at all for the 2023's with the digital EVIC. His smart *** remark would have you believe he knew what he was talking about, but he doesn't.

I advise against using those. I had them, when I had an accident, that totaled my 2020. Those added just enough slack, that my head hit the rear view mirror, and my right knee hit the dashboard. After surgery, I couldn't walk for 3 months, couldn't kneel for 11 months, and walk with a limp. The length of the seat belt buckle is engineered there for a reason. I found out the hard way.

Wow, that's crazy. I never even thought about that. I just disabled mine, but that does give me pause to recommend these to anyone now.

I always use seat belts, but put those on to not have to reach so far down, to buckle. Much easier, when the buckle is up there farther. I never thought something like that would happen. People can choose whether to use them or not, but I never will again, and just share my experience.
