Hmm. I back up quite often at night. I also have the 12" screen in my 2021 and have not noticed it being too bright. I also installed additional pod lights to the rear that act as additional reverse lights. I'll have to pay more attention next time I back up at night but I don't recall it ever being an issue for me.
