Lifetime warranty does get tricky. Redline and HPL "meet or exceed" the MS6395, according to each brand, they just haven't paid for the license that says they're certified. Its more of a "self certification", but many old school dino oils can exceed it as its a weak standard.

I've yet to hear of a case of warranty being denied due to oil choice unless it was clearly sludged up and not maintained. They don't send oil away to get it analyzed.

But I get it, we all have different comfort levels when it comes to this stuff.

I'm a virgin with this stuff, prefer to be covered with an appropriate prophylactic course of action. Hopefully I wont need it by the dozen or gross.

I have seen mention of buying back a truck or lemon law as well as making mods to truck and having the dealer said you have voided the warranty and repairs will now cost you money. I wanted to get to the facts around these 2 issues and found this information. This website is specific to Oregon State but I hope your state will have the same information, at least this is something to start from for an example.
