Is rust proofing and undercoating the same thing?

And then for these trucks is it best to rust proof from new or can you remove rust from a relatively newer truck and then rust proof?

And also is fluid film a good product for this? Would 3 cans be enough? How does me cleaning the bottom with a power washer and applying fluid film to ever non exhaust system part compare to a pro shop doing it?

Is it advisable to do this process annually?

I live in Ontario...salt capital of the planet!

At the 4 year mark I got under the truck and did some wire brushing, spray painting and used a few different rust products. I wish I had done it sooner. One product was supposedly good for 2 years. The others from what I can recall are to be done annually.
