Running boards to avoid?

Anyone have any particular running boards to avoid based upon the way they look on the truck? I've seen some reviews on some that end up sticking out too far, so I am trying to avoid a bad purchase.

I could not get the Mopar matte black running boards this time last year and had trouble deciding on an alternative. In the interim I decided to go with a $160 set from ebay. They worked out OK and may even have left them on if not for their length. Something to consider besides how far they stick out if you see something advertised without dimensions or direct fit pictures on the Ram.
