How can I adjust the volume of my phone ringer when I have my phone plugged in and using CarPlay? When I get a call now, the volume of the ringer is on full blast through the truck speakers and it's very startling, especially to my sleeping passenger. I tried adjusting the volume on the radio knob, as the phone is ringing and it turns it down, but goes right back up on subsequent calls. I'm using an iPhone 6S with software version 12.3.1. Thanks!

I'm curious to know if there's a way as well - so far none that I've seen, my 8.4-4 system defaults to vol level of 14 for each call

If you make a call you can adjust the volume while it's ringing.

correct - however you can't set a default for the ringer volume for an incoming call (which is what OP is looking for).

When you hit dial, you can start cranking the volume lower even before you hear the ring and it will be at a lower volume to start; too bad you can't set a default so far

From my experience, incoming calls ring at whatever volume I set the system at for calls. Whenever I receive a call it rings at the same level as when I make a call. Interesting. I have experienced jumping through the roof when I got a call before. Lol

I still can't get this to change on my truck. Messed around with it a few times on Saturday and incoming calls still come in at an annoying high volume level.

Ditto - I paid more attention to it this weekend, it always rings at 14 regardless of where it last left off.

I wonder if this is something Uconnect makers can remedy since it's likely outside Ram's expertise

Same scares the crap out of me all the time!

Hi stebo,
We understand why this may be frustrating. I would like to have this looked into further to see if there's anything we can do to help. Please send us a private message at your earliest convenience.

Gosh I was about to post the same question. It gives me a heart attack every time it rings. It's gotten to the point where I wont even conect to it for the fear of getting a call.
Please someone tell me how to fix this! My mom is almost 90 and it almost gave her a heart attack on Saturday...never seen her jump like that!

Yeah, I've had the same problem. Also, If you are on the phone through CarPlay and click anything or get an announcement from the nav system, they blast at at full volume also.

Raptors/F-150's had this same issue. On the Raptor Forum, someone posted that the adjustment needed to be made via phone settings. I cannot remember the process, but when I followed the directions (iPhone 6S here), it resolved the issue. And because my phone was adjusted from my Raptor, I have not had an issue in my Ram. Some of you may want to search that forum, or on-line the resolve it, as I do not believe its a UCONNECT issue.

I just did a quick google search, and this cut & paste is exactly what I adjusted for the Raptor...specifically the Change with Buttons bit

I figured a way that solves the loud ringing issue. Went to Settings- Sound- to section that says “Ringer and alerts”. I turned that way down. * You also have to switch the “Change with Buttons” to OFF.
