I have put the Ridge grapplers on 2 jeep Wranglers, a jeep XJ, Ford F-250 and a Ford F-150 all in sizes from 33x12.5 to 37x13.5 and have never been disappointed. Not one issue with balancing and really got some good mileage out of them. I am now 4 weeks into owning my new to me 2019 ram and just ordered another set of Ridge Grapplers. This will be the first set that is not an LT tire since i will not be doing any heavy towing or any off-roading with this rig. I wanted a more forgiving ride since this will be 100% street rig so went with the XL load rate. So if you cant tell i am definitely a fan of Ridge grapplers and recommend them all day long.

Yeah towing or doing off roading. XL is going to give you a better ride and MPG because the tire won’t weight as much as the LT. Very few options in sizes for the XL but There are more size options in LT tires which is why I think most guys end up with them. Like I said before LT tires are overkill for probably 95% of trucks that have them.

They do have an option in that size it is just an SL which is standard load. It has plenty of payload and will ride just like the XL.

A little late but I had a set of 305/55/20, they balance well. Ride is great on them, I thought they were terrible in the rain and in the snow. They will last you longer than any hybrid tire and they will wear even, but as far as adverse weather. There are much better tires

Not the size you’re thinking about. But I have zero complaints about my Ridge Grapplers and very much recommend them.

g2 any better?
I have no experience with those , other than a friend who runs them, who likes them. Also I’ve only heard good things about them. But people say that a lot about the ridge grapplers to. After experiencing the ridge grapplers, I’ll prolly won’t go back to Nitto in the future. I’m a duratrac fanboy, and their snow performance and overall ride quality I feel is top notch, besides rain performance, after theyre new. But still better than the ridge grapplers

I own the G2 but I’ve never owned the Ridge Grapplers. The G2 I purchased as I wanted a smoother ride with my 35” tires and lift and it has achieved exactly that. But for my winter set up I’ll be going with 18” wheels and snow tires when the time comes.

Nitto tires in general have very average ratings across the internet. Lots of people have issues with them. My brother runs the 305/55-20 Ridge Grappler and he's had them for almost 30,000 miles. He says they are terrible in the rain and dangerous in bad weather.

Found my RGs cheapest on Tirescanner.com, theyre cheaper & their customer service was excellent. i screwed up my order & still got my tires in 3 business days.

*Stay away from onlinetires.com - tons bad reviews. They are the cheapest tho so u can use their price for price matching with competitors

It’s is crazy how many people run them, I mean, I fell for the hype, but quickly realized they are a very sub par tire in anything other than dry pavement. They just look so good, but they are dangerous, atleast that’s what I thought compared to ever other tire I’ve ever ran

I thought they handled deep water well to keep you from hydroplaning, but on just a damp road, no surface water. They were terrible. Part of me thinks a wider tire and conditions like that they would excel in because of more contact patch. And with any 12.5, you get a floating feeling in deep snow, there not ideal for that but I’ve had other 12.5s and these were the worst so far.

I have had both 12.5 wide and 13.5 Ridge Grapplers and live in SW Florida where we get some pretty frequent heavy rains and a hurricane here and there! Not once have i felt like like they were anything but solid and safe tires in rainy or dry conditions. I cant speak for snow abilities but wet roads i have no concerns about there safety and abilities.

So how many miles before you felt they were dangerous? I have put over 45,000 miles on each set i have owned and never felt they were dangerous even after that amount of miles with a few off road wheel trips mixed in there.
