Am I wrong with my assessment of the inferior reverse light illumination levels on the Gen 5 Laramie Sport compared to the Gen 4 Sport?
After backing out a few times down my driveway I had to slow down and pay close attention in order to stay on my blacktop. I never had this issue with my 2018 Sport. The rear/backup lights on the 2018 projected enough light for the camera so I could easily see my driveway; NOT the case with the 2020 model. Any ideas other than adding more white backup lights???

I can see this being an issue. Seems like the new lights on the rear are meant to be visible by other drivers but don’t put out much regional illumination. There aren’t any big bulbs to light up your surroundings, if that makes sense.

I agree, the reverse lights on the DT are atrocious. I changed my halogens out to LED hoping for a vast improvement but I was disappointed. Been investigating various options but haven't found any that work without being obtrusive. Most recently tried the White Night receiver mount unit, but I found there is not enough space between the receiver and the bottom of the bumper for it to fit. Some guys on here have installed a light that is part of a license plate frame, which I would really like, but then there are reports of the tailgate rubbing against it when opened

FYI not sure if posters are aware of this compilation:

I assume you all are referring to the factory LED taillights?

My daughter-in-law drives the 2020 Laramie and loves the new LED taillights. I just couldn’t get used to them as the reverse lights are just not bright enough for my old eyes. So, I knew it was the Big Horn/Lone Star for me and then I replaced all the bulbs with Lasfit LEDs. No hyper flash on the turn signals, no error codes/check engine lights and light output is phenomenal.

The Lasfit reverse lights can light up a runway and I’m very happy with the output. You can see them on Lasfit’s website but I ended up purchasing on Amazon as the price was less. Great bulbs...just remember to stay away from the fly by night guys selling them out of a UPS Store mailbox as Lasfit backs theirs with a guarantee and warranty...the others guys may or may not.

For the 2019/2020/2021 Ram 1500 Big Horn or Lone Star (may be for other models with the non-LED tail lights):
