Polycarbonate vs Aluminium? And no I don't plan on stepping on it...

I had an MX4 which is Allumium and it got scratched up pretty bad I guess from putting stuff on it. I assume the polycarbonate would fare better?

looking at GATORTRAX vs GATORTRAX MX and only diff is plastic vs metal. Roughly $600 difference in price, poly being cheaper.

I wanted to get the Gatortrax in glossy but i guess it's no longer made and no one has it in stock (2022 5'7 bed w\rambox w\mft)

I’ve had two RetraxPro XRs, which are the aluminum versions, figuring they’d be more durable than polycarbonate and not subject to UV deterioration (I park my truck outside, and it gets a lot of sun).

That said, I never had the polycarbonate version to compare them to.
