Removing Center Speaker Cover PLEASE HELP!

Hi Everyone!

This Forum is amazing. I have a rattle coming from where I think is the center speaker. Just wanted to remove the cover to have a look, wasn't sure if anyone has done this and how easy it is. I do not want to damage anything. Seems like I would just get a flat head under the edge but....Rather be safe if someone has done it before.

It's very easy. I used a trim removal tool, but with a flat blade screw driver and a cloth underneath, you can start prying up the edges. It will pop right off.

If you're a tool hoe (like I am) and work on your own stuff - spending $20 or less on a good set of plastic trim removal tools will save years of heartache by not scraping stuff up on your new truck.

I've used them 3 times in less than a month since I got my truck.

I just pulled mine out using my fingers and finger nails. Started along the front edge and worked my way around.

Got some thin foam at a craft store that has adhesive one one side (about $1), cut out some rectangle pieces with scissors, cut out a rectangular hole in each of those with a utility knife and stuck them on each of the spots that the clips go into the dashboard. Cut a few more pieces out and stuck them in a few spots under the cover.

Maybe 15 minutes total (excluding the drive to the craft store), and so far no more rattle.

Thank you this is great advice will be doing that this weekend. I will be investing in those trim removal tools. !
