It’s been driving me nuts as it’s only worked once for me and now I know why after thinking this feature is broken.

I just found out by mistake that my climate control only works on remote start when ambient temps are 40 degrees or below. This is the first thing I’ve had to complain about on my new Ram and it’s annoying as hell ! Does Ram have a climate control police department?

Sorry Ram, where we live it’s hot most of the year and when it cools down it’s cold! And yes 40 degrees is cold for us. It sure would be nice if your trucks would activate the heated seats , heater , defrost, outside mirrors etc whenever the truck is remote started if the climate control is set higher than anticipated ambient temps. My 2016 F150 did, my wife’s 2021 Honda Pilot does, hell every car I’ve ever owned with auto climate control and remote start worked, but not my 2024 Ram Laramie?

I read on a TRX forum that someone says that earlier software versions the remote start climate control worked all the time?

Does anyone here know about this, is it fixable via software? I can’t be the only one complaining about this.

There is no logical reason for this, no settings to adjust in Uconnect. SO LAME!!! @RamCares !!!!

What year/model of truck do you have?
Some of the features are not standard on some of the various models. I have a 2020 Laramie my HVAC/heated seates/heated wheel will turn on at about 40 degrees or so. In the summer the AC and cooling seat will turn on. This is only for the driver's seat passenger at least on my truck is all fully manual.
Not sure if this is a setting in the radio/UConnect system as I do not remember, for me it's been set, and forget it.

It has never worked all the time. It only works at a set threshold (set by the factory and talked about in your manual). When it is cold, it activates the heat and when it is hot, it activates the AC. The heated seats/steering wheel and cold seats are activated too if the comfort settings are on in Uconnect. The threshold can be changed using AlfaOBD. But it is set at a normal standard.

Thank you. I am now aware of how it’s “supposed” to work per the manual and and other observations. I am asking if anyone has had it work like the rest of the world in modern trucks. You know,,,, when you need and want it and not a pre-programmed parameter !

Well, this my first modern truck since 1998, but other modern vehicles work the same way with auto climate controls. Don't want it that way, don't use auto and set the temp/fan speed. That's how it works in all the vehicles I've ever owned.
