Bought a 21 Ram 1500, Bighorn, tow package w trailer steering, 3:92, 5.7 Quad Cab. I will be towing trailer, max 7,000 pounds loaded, my door shows i have around 11,400 tow capacity. When I bought the Truck. Previous owner installed puck type front lift and went around 2.5 inches and rides like garbage in front, bouncy. I want to remove puck. Mainly want ride quality and to tow 2-3 times max a year. Thinking Bilstein 5100s up front and go around 1.5 inches to give me a little rake for towing and for rear, should I leave the oem hd shocks alone or go with the 5100s there also. I added sumo springs in back to help a little with towing. Truck has just under 40k miles. Anything else I should upgrade at same time? I will probably never do enough off road things to have to worry about that. Right now truck is 1/2 inch more in front than rear.

The OEM shocks are more than likely twin tubes and the don't last very long. Bilsteins are digressive valved which makes them particularly great for towing. You are correct that pucks are garbage. You have clearly thought this out. Good job with the springs as well.

I did get the bilstein 5100s, feels great on road, then other day was backing out with wheel turned and have at times the tire barely contacts the liner, grrrr. Now i need to raise front a little more. I told the shop to have front around 3/4 to inch lower in front than back just to give me slight rake for towing. Maybe that was a mistake....
