Rear window surround crack.

I appreciate follow up on that. I questioned the weatherstrip as well to the dealership and the service technician. I was told by the service technician that the weatherstrip is simply attached with adhesive and that there are no holes under the weatherstrip that could become a problem. Can you confirm this?
You can confirm it yourself , go into your trunk and try to lift the corner. They look like clips to me. Also when I google the part, it shows clips on the bottom end

Add me to this massive list. Noticed the backseat was moist just under the headrest while buckling the kid into his seat. Then found the source. Didn't think to get pics before wiping them off. Noticed two drips coming over the sliding window track (?), seemingly from the headliner area. Later I found water coming between the glass and plastic in the circled area of the picture.
I thought maybe it was the third brake light, so I bought the recommended marine weatherstripping and installed it. Didn't solve the problem. Pulled the light off today and it was bone dry behind it.
I'll be calling the dealer tomorrow and relaying everything I've read here. Maybe they can do something about my warping ramboxes too.

I asked those who removed the weatherstrip molding on the roof. It’s adhesive. Not clips. Can’t be a source of water intrusion.

To Those with a bad 3rd brake light; when you remove it do you see any evidence of water on the headliner?

I pulled mine and it looks totally clean, not damp, no visible evidence of any water stains. Just wondering if there’s a good “tell” between the 3rd brake light vs the window frame seal being garbage.

Thanks,

Dallas

The ends of the trim are clipped in. I had mine removed when truck was in for collision repair to the area right behind the rear door. I know they’re clipped because body shop broke clip removing it and had to order a new trim piece

Thank you, I knew I seen clips.

Have an appointment for this Friday. Will circle back on estimated wait time. For those that have already had the repair, do they replace the whole window? Or just the trim? Trying to figure out if I need to get them to also retint it.
It is the whole window. Had it done on my 2020.
Talking with friends who have F-150s they seem to have a similar problem.

Great - I have a 1 year old ARE Fiberglass cap for my truck collecting dust sitting on the ground over a month since my window leak was found and no sign of a window yet. THANKS ALLOT RAM

I think we've been waiting about the same amount of time for our replacement windows. My ETA keeps moving to the right, and my RAM CARES case manager won't even call me with any updates because I suppose there aren't any. The most frustrating part is seeing the plant running full out pumping out new RAMS while those of us with trucks needing repair have to wait for the supply chain to catch up. They could drop one Sunday shift and get many of us windows. But I know that's not how big businesses run.

Received an update from my dealer today... fairly prompt actually... after 24hrs from seeing the truck, contacting FCA and confirming with the dealers bodyshop, the rear window replacement was ordered, confirmed in stock and should be arriving in 2 days.

I will add, for any Canadian owners, Kathryn from Ramcares provided me with all the information that I needed to verify the correct window part and STAR case which I immediately passed on to my Service and Warranty managers and I am convinced this tactic expedited my case and should provide me with the best chance of a successful repair.

After the window is replaced, a water test will be performed to confirm the sharkfin and third brake light are not leaking as we discovered some slight water marks around the rear passenger headliner speaker.

If any Canadian customers are in this process (which my dealer confirmed is extensive, they've replaced "many" already) please PM me or contact Kathryn through Ramcares for the information that should help you get the job done right.

Got some pictures this morning. No obvious cracks. Seems to be coming from headliner area in addition to the area in the pic on my previous comment. Got an appointment to have the truck checked on the 8th.

Is the "new" brake light very similar to the old brake light? My 2019 and 2021 have very similar brake lights however the 2021 just has an added piece of weather stripping on top of the existing weather stripping.

The part number for the newest brake light ends in AG. I’ve called several dealers in a 30+ miles radius and all of them have them on back order. The one nearest to me said they would have them by April 12th, after checking their tracking info. I went to MyMopar online store and ordered it for $40 and the new torx screws. I’ll have both by Monday. I’ll upload a picture of what it looks like.

My latest update on 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Crew Cab, 59k miles, window leak:
After 3 or so denials from dealership and Ram cares, and around the time i began using the term lawyer, scam- and requesting responses from the manager of my case specialist- RAM cares decided to cover the glass crack under warranty. The first unit cracked in shipment to the dealer and i am awaiting the next shipment. Hope the interior isn't ruined by now. Be persistent!

I will be filing lemon law if my issue isn’t taken care of. If my truck still leaks with “repairs” and replacements being done.... I am writing down all my experiences as well. I already have an attorney I consulted with.

Interesting, I was able to find some of the new part number on eBay but from the front it looks exactly the same. I’ll be interested to see what yours looks like when you get it.

Yeah I don’t believe they would redesign the entire light. Just the seal. I’ll upload the pictures of the new light when it arrives

Well my glass is finally in but the glass man at my dealership is on vacation next week, so I'll have to wait another week before they swap it out. I just hope it's the correct "new" part number and not an old lot. They mentioned having to get it from another dealership instead of from the depot, which raises a flag.
