I recently hit the dreaded Rear Cabin leak. (2020) It was bad enough that the RF receiver module became in-operable rendering Key Fob communication dead. (Had to disconnect the battery to reset the alarm.
Here's the new part that I would like opinions on:
After 3 days at the dealer waiting on the glass company, the service manager informs me that Chrysler no longer allows a 3rd party glass company for the rear window repair and they had to order a special "Tool" in order to complete the fix themselves. 3 more days and I pickup the car on Saturday. Cracks on the rear window trim still there and service manager says they don't fix that just reseal the rear window now.
Of course freezing temps and dry as a bone weather in the Northeast for the next week or so means no way to check for leaks for a bit, so time will tell.

Just wondering if anyone else has heard the No 3rd Party Glass company story?

I don't know why they would stop 3rd party. Back in the day, when I was a mechanic, we did glass in house, but that ended years ago. It's cheaper for a 3rd party glass contractor to replace it, than to pay the mechanic's labor. I had to have a side glass replaced on my 21 Durango. The selling dealer said it would take a few days, because they had to wait for the glass company to come out. That dealer was about 40 miles from home, so I made an appointment at a closer dealer, that shuttled me home, and picked me up when it was done, and still had a contractor do the work.

Stellantis has decided that a service tech can apply the sealant to the glass, it is very easy to do.

Heres is my storie, sorry for all us Ram owners, RAM has let us all down, it’s a defect so they are obligated to fix it at there $$$$, I sent this to Ram care and they are Ram doesn’t Care!
I have a 2021 Ram Bighorn Ecodiesel with 11,000 miles. Right before my three year warranty was up, I had a few incidents where my remote would not respond. If I got really close it would work. Closer to the three year mark, the remote start would not work, and then it would. About 15-20 days after the warranty had expired, I tried to remote start but got nothing but a weird light on the truck dash. I could not get the door to unlock. I used my valet key and opened the doors to the horn going ballistic. From there, my nightmare began. After quite a bit of research, I found out that this is a common problem. After troubleshooting I found that the start battery was down to 10.3 volts, I put it on charger overnight, it would only get to 11.3 volts! So I took it to an auto parts store and they said it was DOA, it could not pass a load test, so another $265. I installed it and same problem it would not start!! That’s when I removed back seats and found water everywhere!!! The remote RF module was soaking wet and had burn marks on circuit board!!! I got appointment at dealer in two weeks! Which was very inconvenient because I needed a vehicle. I had the truck towed to the dealer. They replaced the remote RF and reprogrammed the remotes. I did the labor to remove and replace the seats. They fixed the truck but I was out $585. I had to take the truck to an auto glass shop that the dealer uses for a replacement window because the old window frame was defective. It had 2 cracks on plastic on the left and right top which caused water to leak onto the RF module, It cost me another $485.
I feel that I should be reimbursed for my expenses because this was clearly a factory defect which Ram knows about but is not taking care of the problem! I have all my sales receipts and plenty of pictures, yogi

My rear window frame cracked on both sides of the middle window this past summer. We only get rain late November through early April where I live and I didn’t get any leaks when I washed it so I thought it not an issue. Now it’s leaking from the cracks and soaking the back seat. Took it to the dealer and they said they had to reseal it. When done, it leaked worse at the same spots. Service folks had said it would happen but they had to do the resealing and now will try and get approval for the whole window and frame replacement. That was a week ago and I’m still waiting for the work approval. Fingers crossed.

Then it was not done properly.
All the way across the upper part and down both sides of the window, the corners will crack also, not just the top.

edit: the replacement window will also crack, just give it time.
