Rear doors freezing in cold weather

Now that is down into the teens and single digits my rear doors of my crew cab have been freezing. Last night it was 16 degrees, my son got in and after a 5 minute ride on the freeway the passenger rear wouldn't open. It feels as though it's still locked when you try to open it. I have lubed the lock striker in the door jam but it continues. Anyone else have this issue and possibly a fix?

Go to a BMW dealership, go to parts and get a bottle of gummi pflege if you need something now, or order Nextzett Gummi Pflege. Apply to rubber door seals. This will prevent freezing. The cheapest and messiest is coating the rubber with vaseline.

Nextzett Gummi Pflege is also on Amazon for just under $10.

I had the same thing happen yesterday, it was almost like someone put the child lock on.

Are you sure the doors were unlocked? They have to actually be unlocked, they will NOT unlock when you pull the handle, like they do on the front doors.

Yep, clicked the unlock button about 5 times. My brother thought I was playing a joke on him.
