Decided to change my rear differential fluid today as I was getting some what seemed like chattering coming from it at low speed sharp turns.….I opened the fill plug expecting some fluid to seep out. After opening it nothing came out. I opened the drain plug and drained the fluid. It was extremely dirty and did not take long to empty. After I funneled it into a container and measured it, found that it was less than 2 quarts. I added the Mopar friction additive as well as almost 3 quarts of Amsoil 75-140. Sealed it up and test drove it around and the chattering on turns has cleared up so far. It makes me wonder if they check the fluid levels or just add enough to get by…. 8500 miles 3.92 rear.
