Good question. I know ZF made the axles for the last generation truck once FCA fully took over from Daimler and stopped making dodge trucks. 2013 was the first year for that axle and the Ram brand.
I was just curious. The early reveal info discussed a 9.25" axle and a 10" axle (which is really 9.75" I think) that had 35-spline axle shafts and a Dana Super 60 center section. Allegedly, that big axle is packaged with the Max Tow group. My truck has towing with a brake controller and a pretty stout payload so I was just curious which axle it ended up with. Also, sometimes the diesels get different equipment that doesn't necessarily follow the trend of the gas trucks.
Upon further research, I believe my truck has a ZF 9.25" rear axle and Eaton makes the e-locker. I could be wrong about that but it's what I've found so far.
