Readylift upper ball joint needs replacement at 34k?

The UCA's are fine. The shop that installed the UCA's beat the crap out of the knuckle with a hammer.
Ah that does make much more sense than my explanation. Thank you.

Now to try to figure out the cause of the metallic-sounding clunk.

And I'd probably stay away from that shop if they did that to you knuckle.
Yeah...Les Schwab... haven't had many good experiences there. I keep telling myself I'm never going to go to one again, but then something comes up and they're the only ones who are open and/or can squeeze me in.

I would take it back to them and show the manager the damage to your knuckle. They should have to pay for a replacement.

Just took my 23 Laramie GT in for an oil change and tire rotation...found out the UBJ on my passenger side is almost toast. 14k miles on the truck. Not impressed, especially when I went to look at the reviews of a replacement. Mild annoyance went to absolute disappointment to see they have a 1 year warranty on the part because it's a "wear item"
