I recently replaced my exhaust manifolds and, after finishing the driver's side (for which I had to disconnect and reconnect the steering shaft), I started getting notifications that ESC wasn't working and 4wd is temporarily unavailable. I was careful not to move the steering wheel but my kids did get into the cab while I was working on it. They swear they didn't move it either but I have my doubts.
About a week later, the battery died. Since then I've noticed other odd issues, guidelines on the reverse camera come on and off sporadically, the heated steering wheel won't stay on when I push the button and the cornering lights work but in reverse (right turn illuminates left light, left turn illuminates right light). All of this has me thinking it's got something to do with the clock spring but I don't know how that would affect ESC and 4wd. I've read there might also be an issue with a steering angle sensor.
Anyone have any similar experiences or advice?
