Just an FYI. Check the alignment of you multi function tailgate closely, specifically the vertical split. Mine looked fine. Noticed a paint chip and some scratches and realized the doors are slightly misaligned.

Kind of related. My father has the exact same Rebel as I do, but he has the regular tailgate to my MFT.
One month after purchase he could no longer close his tailgate. Took it in 3 times with no success to what was causing it. I noticed it was misaligned and they fixed it the next day.
The latch was hitting the end of the rod, which is a larger round knob, instead of the rod itself.

;)
Can you post some pictures?
Here's a few pics starting from closed. When closed the door appear almost perfectly aligned. When you open the left door, it drops down slightly and scratches. I coated the scratches with touch up paint to temporarily stop any rust but you can clearly see the chip and scratches 20201007_185644.jpg20201007_185757.jpg20201007_185833.jpg20201007_185845.jpg20201007_185851.jpg

I've read about others with misaligned tailgates mostly on the regular gate. Seems to be a quality control issue with Ram.
