One of the things that drove me to a Ram from owning GM products was the Ramboxes, among many, many other things. I looked for a thread for general ideas and info on these, but wasn’t able to find anything recent. Hoping to start a thread for effective ways people are using the Ramboxes and general info on getting the most out of them.
One of the concerns I had prior to purchasing was the bed space and being able to get an ATV loaded in. I took measurements and it was always close enough to make me nervous. Fontunately my XP platform Polaris Sportsman fits perfectly between the utility rails. I was hoping to find that info on this forum prior to purchasing, but didn’t after some digging. I load with ramps and while it is snug, there is room on either side, even on what I think is Polaris’ biggest chassis with stock wheels and tires.
I was disappointed to see the lack of options for dividers on the new DT style boxes and wasn’t thrilled with the prices from Mopar on older gens anyway. I found a sheet of 1/4” black acrylic on Amazon for $25 (link below) and made my own. 4” x 9” rectangles make good simple, low profile dividers with room above to easily stash longer items. Had enough left over on the sheet to craft a close out panel for the spot above the filler cap. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DYSTH3K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I was also in search of a tool box/bag that used the space inside the Ramboxes well to store frequently used tools. I found one from Home Depot that is the perfect dimensions and holds a decent assortment of hand tools and a compact drill.
What else have people found that works well and makes efficient use of the space in the Rambox?
