i know a few people that have well over 200k and never had a cam issue and there are people that have e-torque and never had a bearing issue.
just like anything the bad gets all the attention.
i guarantee the cam and the E-T bearings come from several suppliers and 1 or 2 of those suppliers are producing sub par parts.
even the well known aftermarket cam company's are having issues hydraulic lifters not making it past break-in.
