RAM Letters on tailgate

The dealer configurator is different than online one we get. The tailgate can actually only be configured with very few colors

I would have been equally disappointed if it wasn’t available. Can’t blame you at all. That tailgate is a nice feature.

that would look slick with thee holes filled and painted. first thing did to my 5th gen was to remove the RAM from the doors.
ram on the steering wheel the grill the doors the tailgate. yo we get it it's a RAM.
all the trucks have a call out on the tailgate so i get it.
you could go with more of a ford look....i don't think it will work on a 2025

An interesting option. But I wouldn't use it!

Very true. The online config tool lets you do much more than is really available. For instance, the forged blue is not available on all trims. It’s definitely not available on the tungsten. Basically any combination with painted trim is not allowed.

If grey letters are $300 that'll be your best option. Maybe you can get a mopar dealer discount on that.

Don't feel too bad, on my 16 Longhorn Limited, I had factory chrome Ram letters on the tailgate about 12" tall. For 8 years I thought i was a Ram billboard.

Interestingly (well maybe not) the photo i showed of the grey letters was only 2019-2024 and says does not fit the DT trucks. Guess alignment pins are different or whatever. Wil do overlays to begin with, then will change to grey letters once they are available for DT. Thanks for all the discussion!

I finally installed the Matt black overlays, took about 2 minutes. Still has the outline but just enough to blend in with the other bits of chrome still on the truck.

Nice! I think the granite crystal metallic overlays i got will have the same chrome “outline” that should be fine

I didn't like the silver letters in the grill, so I got this on ebay somewhere.
Did the same on the tailgate as well over the black letters.
It's a combo of matt and gloss vinyl.

yes I actually have those on order. The Laramie Badge kind of already had the flat black with chrome outline so the 4x4 did look a bit out of place still all chrome.

How would you say the color of the Laramie compares to the overlay? Is it close to matching or a decent difference? Considering doing the same and 4x4 overlays but want to try and match the Laramie as much as possible.

I would say the black color is pretty dead on, the biggest difference is the boarders. All of the RAM badges on the truck have a beveled edge while the Laramie badge has it's own nickle like boarder and the 4x4 has no bevel so with the overlay on it you don't get that same chrome outlined effect looking at it dead on it almost looks all black. None the less I don't think it looks bad. Took a picture but lighting is not good right now.

Just clicked on this. I have the multifunction tailgate …. glad to have the option but actually wish they had done the RAM lettering instead of the Ram head. To each his own ….

Applied vinyl overlays, i like it. And took off Bighorn. Half a bottle of googone and about 30min of elbow grease to get adhesive off.

Any good ideas for getting rid of or minimizing the HUGE RAM letters on the tailgate of the 2025. So very disapointed they did that. Loved the rams head. And of course i tried to order the multifunction tailgate during the configuration process for functionality but more for the Rams head only, but they wouldn't allow that in Granite grey, infuriating.

There certainly are some infuriating things with these trucks and the trim choices they allow. Imagine offering a body color trim option but then not offering the shark's fin in body color...

Or teasing several colors for MY 2025 and then only having them on select trims (i.e., the blue is not available on the Tungsten or any other level with painted trim pieces).
