Ram Connect Plus vs Connect WiFi Plus

Ok so besides the obvious I’m a little confused here as to what is what. I got an email offering me a holiday promotion for $5 for the first month on the WiFi Plus but saw in the fine print it goes to $18/m after that. But I remember the dealer telling me it was $10/m and I verified in the app it says $10/m. But then I noticed it say Ram Connect Plus and not “WiFi”. Then I noticed I don’t even see an option for the “WiFi” one.

Google doesn’t show a single thing for just Ram Connect Plus. And it’s not even on Rams website under connected services. Only Ram Connect One and WiFi plus. So what’s the deal?

Am I to assume the ‘26 Tungsten doesn’t come with a Mobil Wifi hotspot ability?

I bought my Laramie a few weeks ago and see something similar. I can get the WiFi Connect Plus for free for 3 months, then it goes to $18/month. I also have the offer for first month at $5.

I personally don’t see anything of value in the package. Maybe I’m missing something completely, but there’s nothing I see that makes me want to pay $18/month. I may just sign up now to get the free 3 months to see what it provides. I expect I won’t notice I’m missing anything when I cancel it right before the 3 month trial period ends.

i think some people do it because not every cell plan allots for hotspot data. Plus the vehicles usually get better signal than the phones do...but theyre operating at 4G now and phones being 5G if not 5GUW/UC etc, then i would agree whats the point.

Don't get me wrong, im not trying to sign up for the wifi. im just trying to understand the difference and why one is showing as an option and the other isn't. Just want to know what my truck does and doesn't have. haha. Like i heard someone mention somewhere about connecting the truck to your home wifi to get updates. I've never seen that option in my settings thus far. So makes me think my truck doesn't have a wifi antennae?

I too saw the 1 month for $5 so what heck. Gives me remote start and 4G hot spot and a claimed theft tracker service. Not sure what outcome you can expect tracking a theft and since remote disabling would be too much of a liability for Ram.
Does the SiriusXM use the hotspot provided the streaming channels? I use SiriusXM streaming on my boat and like the service but still not $200 per year just to have it integrated into the UConnect.

Maybe someone here has something compelling?

100% agree. Anyone in your vehicle who wants to connect to the internet with their device without cell service can use the wifi hotspot on a phone. If you don't have that capability on your phone you aren't living in this century. Wifi provided by a vehicle is obsolete.

Perhaps. Although In my experience only the top tier mobile plans include WiFi hotspot much less unlimited. Even my top tier Verizon plan has a limit to it. There’s a new top tier but I’m not switching because I get full Disney+ that costs over $25/m now alone if I switch to a different plan lol. My wife/kids would crucify me if we lost Disney.

Either way would never pay another $20/m on top of my car note for WiFi hotspot

My question was the plan I am offered in the app under my account is Ram Connect plus. For $9/m. Not the WiFi version for $19. And that plan doesn’t seem to exist in Google or the Ram Connect website. So was just curious why that was lol.

Sorry didn't mean to hijack your question. I paid $10++ a month to AT&T for the vehicle wifi for around 3 years until I wised up because I rarely used it. I have a 55+ plan with T-Mobile that gives me 50 GB a month of hotspot which again I don't even get close to using even with my grandkids riding in the car with their iPads. Only other thing I will mention about this is my SXM sometimes connects to a station using wifi instead of satellite. I thought I needed the wifi plan to keep that working but turns out I don't. I don't know how it gets the wifi signal but it shows the wifi icon sometimes still.

I don't know much about Ram Connect +. Although I did have something included for a year when I first bought mine that included the stuff in the RAM app like remote start etc. I realized that was a waste also and didn't renew it after the first year.

My SA at the dealer can’t figure out why either. I don’t have the option to activate it in the settings when I googled how. Lmao

Ram connect plus was replaced by Ram connect WiFi plus back in july. See if your Ram app needs an update.
Turn signal activated side mirror cameras is only available with tow mirrors.

Ya except they’re at two different price points. One is $10 and the other $20.

And pretty dumb to hear but also tells me it can probably be coded if they ever figure out the 25/26s.

I’ve got programming figured out on these. The sport mirrors can’t do turn signal activated cameras because their camera view is straight down to the ground, whereas the tow mirror camera’s view is straight back.

Dumb. lol oh well the tow mirrors are hideous so I guess It is what it is.

Well I’m glad then I can at least still get the connect plus for $10 over the $20 WiFi bundle. I do use the app remote start as my office is too far from where I park. Not sure it’s worth $10/m but we’ll see. lol I had drone mobile on my M5 and it had a subscription now that I think k about it. But I also used it for vehicle tracking in case it got stolen. Also would send me alerts every time it started or stopped. Used it to track dealer work on her from time to time.
