Hi All,

Perspective buyer of a '19-'20 Ram 1500 Laramie or Limited. Apologize for the elementary question but I am new to FCA products. I am trying to understand the Ram (or Uconnect?) app for the RAM's for remote start, lock/unlock, vehicle status, etc. I have F150s and a Lincoln Navigator with the FordPass and Lincoln Way for several years which allows you to start your vehicle remotely via the app, as I am sure you are all already aware of.

It appears that Ram has a similar option but I am trying to ascertain whether this is free like Ford's offering (now) or is a subscription service. Also whether this functionality is only available on select trims or all RAM 1500's. The information seems more difficult to come by then I would expect. I have been reading conflicting information as well as the difference between the uconnect app and the new Ram app.

I am sure this has been asked before. I did a search but came up empty, so I apologize if its obvious and I simply overlooked it based on search terms.

Thanks all.

Ram app is for the 2022's that have the Uconnect 5 radio system. Uconnect app is for older Rams. However, older Rams will show up in the new RAM app but new ones will not show up in the Uconnect app.

The remote feature is free for the first year, then they start charging a monthly fee. Wasn't worth it for me and once my trial expires I will not renew.

Awesome, thank you. Exactly what I was looking for. Appreciate it!

Like esta said, I let mine expire. I don't need to start my truck from my phone. One good feature, but not worth the total cost, is the locate vehicle option. I used it once when I was on vacation and parked in some back lot in downtown Chicago. Not remembering exactly where I parked, the app led me right to the car.

The Ram app is better than the UConnect app for the older systems. Based on my experience, it responds faster, GPS is accurate when locating your truck, and just "feels" better. It just has the basics right now, but I can features being added.

2022 Model Year is called RAM CONNECT. Previous Year Models it was called Sirius Guardian.

Previous to that it was called UCONNECT.

The RAM CONNECT app is pretty modern and streamlined.
