RAM 1500 owners...Tell me the pros and cons. I'm trying to decide which pickup to buy. Edit: I bought a '24 RAM 1500 Limited! Yippee!

I think a decision to replace sway bars will have to wait until after I've put a lot more miles on my new truck, and after I get a solid feel for how the truck tows our trailer next year. I'm coming from a much smaller 2-wheel drive Tacoma Prerunner, so everything feels different. I really enjoyed driving my Taco, but this new truck is so much more (in every respect) than the Taco. I need time to get to know my new truck.

SkittleRam: Watching the range change is an education in how much things have changed since '07 when my Tacoma was built. I'm up to 13.5 MPG. I'll keep watching.

The swaybar changes the ride, "deteriorate" depends on your preference as I feel it "enhances" the ride quality. If you like a sloppy/lazy suspension that dips in corners then you might prefer stock, I run the hellwig in the stiffest setting and could almost use more yet. The downside (again, those words depend on your preference) is that the suspension feels a stiffer, and you notice the road a little more in corners but if you're towing this upgrade is well recieved by pretty much everyone.

To answer the second part of your question, the swaybar does not depend on any other mod.
Thanks for all of the input! Sounds like a must-have if you're towing a lot. I still have the BMW when I want to have some serious fun, get onto the track, etc. I will pay attention now to the characteristics you all describe, though, because a better-planted, more secure-handling vehicle is almost always a good thing.

Hello, everyone.

This is my first post on this forum. I'm shopping for a new pickup, and one of my top choices is the 2023/2024 5.7L HEMI RAM 1500 Laramie Crew Cab 4X4 5'7" box. I don't need the 2500 (too expensive), and I'm not interested in the diesel engine.

I'm posting here because I want to hear from RAM 1500 owners. I watch YT videos and read professional reviews. Now I want to hear from you. If I buy a new RAM 1500, I want to know how well it's going to hold up in 5, 10, and 15 years. I don't flip my vehicles every 5 years. I want a tow vehicle that's going to last a long time without costing me an arm and a leg in repairs. My current pickup is an '07 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner with 108k miles on it. [Yeah, I know. It's still a baby.] Whichever pickup I end up buying will be used to haul stuff, tow a travel trailer, drive on BLM and forestry roads, and be a second vehicle. I'm in my 60s now, and I'm not going to tear up and down back wrenching off road tracks although my son might.

So....tell me what you like about your RAM pickup, and what you don't like about it. I want to know about the issues that I hear about in videos. How much do you have to spend to fix manifold issues, lifters, transmission issues, etc. If I decide to buy a RAM 1500, I want to know what I'm getting myself into because I plan to own it 10 or more years from now, and hope to pass it down to my son and daughter-in-law some day.

I appreciate any and all responses. I'll try to respond as much as possible.
2019 Bighorn 5.7 Crew Cab. Smooth & quiet. I can't believe how sweet it is to drive. 63k miles and zero spent on repairs. Just routine service and tires. Some early minor warranty stuff. Never left me stranded. No rentals needed. 21mpg with 4 large humans and a bed full of stuff. It's a terrific travel machine. It does have the 3.23 gears.
