RAM 1500 Limited ETorque - Auto Shutdown (Parking Brake Engaged)

Has anybody that experienced this have the low battery light on when they restart the truck? It's happened to me twice with my 2022 rebel e torque and both times low battery light came on and voltage was indicating just under 12 volts (11.5 - 11.7) upon restarting. Truck still drove and when I shut it off and turned it back on everything appeared normal, voltage back at 14ish. Have also had an issue with truck running rough before it's warmed up and I'm at a stop when auto start/ stop is not on. Feels like a misfire. Most times it goes away upon acceleration, but twice it has continued to misfire (run rough) and actually thrown an active (blinking) check engine light. Again, shut the truck off and turn it back on and everything runs a it should. Darn electronics (software) is what I'm thinking. Don't want to waste my time and money dropping it off at the dealer to be told we can't recreate the problem and no codes stored so no problem. Any solutions or insight would be much appreciated!

Im thinkjng my truck wasnt digging the -25C weather when it happened to me. Stopped at light. Turned off as normal. Went to accelerate at it shut off and parking brake activated, Put it in park started truck turned off pb and it ran fine ever since.

I have a 2023 1500 ram and this same thing happened to me yesterday 4/2/2025 and today 4/3/2025. Bought this truck brand new in 2023. Last year the drive shaft had to be replaced. This shutting off thing is scaring me. I am bringing it in on Tuesday. My dash says service transmission. My ram app says an engine problem. So there is proof. Now to see what they say. I am getting tired of this truck.

2021 Ram 1500 etorque

I bought it used last year. It died on me twice, as others have described in this thread, where the truck kills the engine and the emergency brake engages.

I thought it may have been tied to Safety Recall 37A, which I had fixed at the dealership after the truck died on me twice.

This past Friday, while leaving work, I was making a turn onto the highway, and the truck died on me again while engaging the parking brake.

I called the dealership, and they said to bring it by this week to have them scan it.

I went to the dealership this morning, and explained to the tech what happened. He put the scanner on the truck, and he could see a fault where it showed the truck had stalled, but didn't say what caused it.

He told me that his '19 Ram does it to him. He also mentioned that he's come across other customers with etorque Rams that do it even after the recall was fixed.

He suggested that I can make a reservation for them to check the truck out, but that it would basically be a waste of time because they have no idea why the trucks are doing this.

This seems to be a huge safety issue. I guess I'll file a complaint with the NTSB. I wish I wasn't upside down on this truck, because at this point I want to get rid of it.
