Has anyone installed the Cold Air Intake on their 5th Gen 5.7 1500? What benefits, and differences have you experienced?

I installed the Ram Air on my truck yesterday. I haven't driven it enough to give you am honest assessment of it. But I can tell you the design of the flow of air is better and thr volume of air is without a doubt is increased. So more volume of air should be an increase in power. But I think the HP and TRQ gains will be minimal and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. IMHO

Long thread on it here:

My personal opinion on CAI's is that you wont notice much of an increase in power if at all. You'll probably get some sound when you floor the gas pedal. Without a tune and dyno they aren't much more than for looks. Again just my opinion

Probably won't see much gain but I think they look great. Definitely better looking than the stock CAI. :ROFLMAO:

Nice, is there any difference in your exhaust sound? I've heard it sounds better... deeper tone...

The only noticeable difference that I can confirm is that throttle response improved to the point that I turned off my pedal commander and left it off.

When my truck got delivered I added the intake and borla ATAK so I never drove my truck without it. In 22 they added it to the gt package so it must be a little more than just looks

I installed mine back in Jan/Feb of this year, and after I’ve noticed an increase from 17 MPG avg to 18-19 MPG for nonhighway driving. I’ve been toying with the idea of how much more of a MPG improvement I’ll get with the Mopar Cat-back exhaust or another aftermarket exhaust

Nice, MPG is what I was hoping to gain... I have gotten as high as 18 on the highway... a 2-3mpg gain would be great for highway driving... thanks for your input...

I couldn't tell you because the same day I change my exhaust also I went with the Mopar Performance Catback Exhaust with Mopar 5 inch tips.

Which exhaust system did you go with? Part # if you have it... and how do you like the sound? low tone or more growl...?

I went with the:

RAM MOPAR PERFORMANCE CAT BACK EXHAUST - 77072520AA(P/N)

It has a great sound for me not to much like the Borla Attack but not soft like the Borla Touring I feel it is a great happy medium no drown when it goes into eco mode I like the have some videos on YouTube check them out.

How are you getting the $763 cost? Cheapest I've found was $812

I have found the 763 cost a couple of places and got excited until I saw the shipping charges.
Around $180 YIKES
Might as well go to the local dealer.
Tom

Yeah I’m about to ask my local dealer if they can give me a discount. I’ve bought 4 vehicles from them so I’ll try using that 😂
