Hello folks. I wanted to see if anyone knows what RAM means by "Heavy-Duty Shock Absorbers" on the Built-to-Serve edition? How does it differ from other 4x4 RAMs or Rebel set up?

This is listed as part of the items in the Built-to-Serve edition:
  • Front Extra Heavy-Duty Shock Absorbers
  • Rear Extra Heavy-Duty Shock Absorbers

...Also, is it just me or the Built-to-Serve edition look leveled already in the front?

Basically the built to serve addition has the same shocks and springs as any Ram with the off road group. So you have 1” all around lift from the factory. Now I don’t know if this is true but I do feel like my 2020 with the off-road group rides a bit stiffer than my 2019 that didn’t have the off road group. So maybe they are a little stiffer? The Rebel also has a 1” lift from the factory but they have some nicer Bilstein shocks. Your truck is definitely not leveled from the factory. If your truck is leveled it was done at the dealer before you bought it.

The truck equip with ORG will ride stiffer than the one without it.

Interesting. My laramie (according to the official build sheet that I emailed ram about) says heavy duty shocks front and rear.

What are the standard and ORP shocks? I know the rebel has bilsteins but im curios to know what are the other ones.

I have my old shocks (swapped them for RC 2" leveling struts on the front and RC in the back) in my basement. Is there any labeling on them that shows if its heavy duty or not?

Owner of a 2020 Ram Laramie (leveled with 2" rc struts and 1" rear spacer on 33.5" toyo open country) , 16 Dodge Charger scat pack and my wife 21 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara (2.5" rc lift with 35" duratracs)

Alright...thinking about this too much, so here are my old shocks from my laramie.

Just got my BTS a couple days ago and the ride is night and day compared to my 14 bighorn I traded in. The 5th gen so far is so much better in every way compared to my 14.

ORP rides just fine. Very comfy for a truck. And I keep my front tires @ 50 psi cold

The extra heavy duty shocks on the ORG are labeled with a green sticker. The keyword being “extra”. Heavy duty shocks are standard.

How much stiffer? Damn, now thinkin mayb I didnt really want/need the E Locker...
Its nothing to worry about. I’ve had both and I only notice it when I hit a significant bump or something like that. You don’t notice anything under normal driving conditions.

Thanks for the info guys. I’m happy with the 1” life and the truck us level enough where it doesn’t look raked. I enjoy the ride on this particular ORG set up. It’s quite comfy and great for long trips.
