Radio Making Loud Buzzing Noise

This usually happens upon starting the truck, radio makes a loud buzz noise and freezes all controls on the touchscreen. I can turn the radio off and it takes about 20 seconds to reset while making the buzz sound the entire time. I’ve done a reset 4-5 times and doesn’t change anything. Anyone else with this issue and fix for it?

Yeah that has happened to several people myself included. Happens randomly, mine did it for a few weeks while it was cold outside and hasn't done it in a few months now. The dealer (at least mine) doesn't know how to fix it or what causes it. I've just chalked it up to garbage cheap electronics/cheap design.

I had that happen a few times with my UC5 12” and Alpine system but reset on it’s own and everything was fine. Hasn’t happened for a few months now.

Mine has been doing it almost every day for the past month. It usually happens when I first start the truck.

So still having this issue and absolutely do not want to go the dealership. Anyone have some troubleshooting ideas I can do to help with this?

This just happened to my 2025 Laramie after the 11/23/2024 UConnect update. Besides the buzz, the radio volume banner at the top of the screen on a volume change did not display properly. Everything else appeared to be ok. I did a factory reset using the vehicle settings. That fixed the volume banner, and I haven't experienced the radio buzz since then.

I haven’t had this happen since. Well over a year now. No idea what caused it but glad it’s gone.

My 2025 RAM 1500 Lonestar SST radio started buzzing when I would start the truck. It would about 15-20 seconds and return to normal operation. Has happened at least 10 times. Dealer cannot find the issue.

I assume the dealer checked that you had the latest Uconnect update? You can check it here: Uconnect® Software Update Center: For Stellantis Vehicles
After the last Uconnect update, I did a factory reset from the Vehicle Settings, and I have not had a buzz since then.

I have a 2025 rebel. Happens often, unfortunately. Loud buzzing noise, frozen radio, reboot. Seems like there’s no solution out there? Software is up-to-date. Online Ram just says it could be from one of your components plugged in with the USB but occurs with nothing plugged in…. Any suggestions on how to fix? Or is this just a known problem of a ****ty system?

I’m experiencing the same buzzing sound then radio resets. It happens about 4 times a day then I could go a day without it happening. This started with my CarPlay not being able to connect to my phone. Dealership has no idea and says there’s nothing wrong with the unit, software is up to date.

I wonder if the buzzing is an actuator. ABS?
Something that energizes when the truck is turned on.
Check the fuses and push em all in, disconnect battery to let relays pop back. Not sure if a need for caps to drain for this issue but an over night disconnect wouldnt hurt.

A techs time to back probe every connection a test every wire is time consuming and no shop wants to keep a tech on one job. Not only that ,, only the really smart ones actually understands CANBUS theory. And electrical diagnosing.
