Driving to work the fm was fine. Going home, it was completely dead. I fiddled with the media settings, Sirius plays, navigation sound is there, but am and fm are dead. No static, won't change stations using the presets, nothing. :(
Dealer is a week out on diagnosing anything. I have an Xmas trip coming up, wifey won't be pleased.
Will report back on anything they find.
I've not had any Uconnect update messages or anything.
Ideas?

Probably not quite the solution you were going for, but I'd either get Sirius XM, Amazon music (if you have prime) or Spotify and just stream vie Bluetooth. Doubt you'll get it fixed before your trip.

Yea, I know the trip will be off apple car play, just wondering if anyone had guesses as to the radio issue. I searched but didn't find anything specific.

You could try to reset your whole system, disconnect the battery (remove the negative terminal and open the door until the dome light stays off, reconnect), then give it few hours to reboot everything.

The ramforum.com has several posts about "bad/no sound radios" that end up being replaced. For some it was fuze 71, for others it was a software uconnect update and for the rest it was determined to be "bad" somehow.
Most all were the 12".

I second this. Although I didn't know about the dome light trick. I just leave mine disconnected for a half hour. Then reconnect and leave alone for an hour, not opening a door or doing anything else. Then give it a try.

A guy with 3,956 messages probably can be trusted though @Willwork4truck

Perform a canbus reset like @SD Rebel mentioned. This can fix many issues but if it doesn't then your radio module's AM/FM tuner may have died on you. This would stop the AM/FM from working but not stop any other audio source from working.
Do you hear anything at all on AM or FM? No sound program bad AM/FM tuner.
Does the radio still allow you to seek new stations or does it never stop on any station when you hit seek? None stop seeking tends to be bad antenna but if you seek and do stop on your local stations but with no sound then bad AM/FM tuner.
Hope this helps a bit.

Ok, psyched myself up this am to become a master ram tech, then I turned the truck on and muscle memory hit the radio button.
Voila, it worked! 😮
Was it a hint to play the Lotto?
Was it the mere threat of the battery being unplugged?
Was it my magnetic personality?

No idea why 🤔 but it works today...

Thanks for the idea of possible fixes. I cancelled my service appointment.
Wish I could say what it was to be able to help other owners!

As for the 3K+ posts, it must have been a spammer who co-opted the account.

Appreciate the advice!

I will say, for the first time ever, yesterday evening I went for a drive and noticed my radio wasn't on, normally it goes through the start up process and then connects to my Android Auto.

Yet just a black screen, I press the power button, nothing. However, after about 2 minutes, it finally boots up. It didn't happen again after that, including several extended stops and starts.

I wonder if there was an update and that caused the delay. First time in 5 years I've noticed anything like that with my radio. Happy coincidence that I experienced something slightly what the OP did?
