I am not an habitual speeder, but would like to get a decent low budget radar/laser detector. under $250. Any good ones.

I have an uniden. You could get the R1 for under that price, it’s the same thing as the R3 but without gps lockouts. You might be able to get the R3 on sale for under $250 tho. I picked uniden over escort, it was a tough decision but after many reviews and YouTube videos later, I felt uniden was the winner

I have an Escort iXc Long-Range and let me tell you it is the biggest POS and non-user friendly detector I've ever used. Reading through many forums and reviews I finally got it to work properly. It is above your budget price (about $700) but I can tell you I won't ever buy another Escort detector again. I've learned the hard way that the more simple, the better.

I have a Beltronics RX65 pro. series in my other truck that I've had for almost 10 years and it's saved me many times. My dad drives like he's playing a Mario Kart game and swears by Beltronics and has always used them.

I had a beltronics and really liked it, I gave it to my best friend when I got my uniden. He uses his every day, it’s a good 6 years old by now

I got a Max360C from a customer of mine as a gift but before that, I had the Uniden R3, it's impressive for the price!!! I'd recommend it.

I like that mount, did it come with the detector or did you get it aftermarket? im not keen on the windshield suction cups, looking for an easy on off mount for the dash. I ended up getting a Uniden DFR8, $150ish and good reviews, would like to mount it exactly as you have done.

It's actually not mounted anywhere, I just placed it on a rubber pad so it'll stick to the dash and not move lol...

which do you like better, the escort or the uniden?
The escort is more advanced and has the app features... the gps lockout on it is amazing, about a week after I got it, it went completely silent by learning all the false alerts in my area...
