Radar detector mount options?

Random story...

Years ago, Car and Driver used to do very thorough radar detector tests. Then, they started testing radar guns. One article that caught my attention was their attempts to "stealth" their test vehicles.

They found that retractable headlights (stowed) were a HUGE factor in reducing the range at which the radar guns could work. Makes sense, since a pair of parabolic reflectors would be perfect wave reflectors. (This article was in the 80s?)

The next best thing to do to reduce your radar cross-section was to tilt your radiator back. That way the energy would be reflected upwards and not back to the radar gun. (We're talking ~10 degrees tilt, if I recall.)

Just some food for thought. ;)

If you’re concerned about reducing your radar cross section you’re buying the wrong RD.
