Question on hosing down the engine bay

When I had my 04 Silverado, a couple times a year I used to spray some Simple Green all over the engine bay and hose it off with minimal pressure from a garden hose (no pressure washers). I would cover the alternator with a plastic bag to keep direct water out of it and not spray on the fuse panels directly. Just wondering if anyone has done similar to their Ram and if there is anything I should be aware/concerned with. Thanks.

Always wash it with the engine running.

Every time I wash one of my vehicles, I also wash the engine bay w/the same car soap and never had a problem. Did the same w/the Ram last week w/no issues.
