Hi there, new member. I found my way here attempting to google a solution to our problem, we have a 2019 Ram 1500 classic, lately there has been this god awful humming/vibration that resonates through the cab for 20-30 seconds only when the truck is first started. We took it to the dealership and it's been kept for 3 days now. I read in another post from September 2018 that who had the same issue, it ended up being a radio/power amplifier causing a grounding issue, and the confirmation for this was to roll down the windows and interrupt the amplifier. We have not had the truck in our posession to confirm this yet.

The power inverter isn't registering as grounded when tested, I let the service manager know this and they stated that was NOT normal.

The other issue we have are the USB ports aren't working, possibly unrelated, but we've been told two different things by two different mechanics. The first was that the fuse for the USB was missing and today the guy covering for him told us the USB fuse was fried. (Still no answer on which version is correct).

I reminded the new mechanic of the grounding issue with the inverter and he told me it was nothing. At this point they can't replicate the sound and it sounds like they are about to give up until we can record it.

My only question: Is the power inverter in a 2019 Ram 1500 supposed to be registering as grounded?
