Probable fix for tailgate sensor problem with bed cover installed

I had a Roll N Lock bed cover put on yesterday. Same issue. Tailgate open sensor kept showing up. Tried everything, but even if it temporarily went away it kept coming back. Found problem. With the Roll N Lock there is a thin hard plastic buffer between the tailgate and the Roll N Lock. It's only a tenth of an inch or so thick, but it makes a difference. Removed it and the problem went away permanently. Apparently that small offset was enough to cause the tailgate-open sensor to register as being open. I may get a thin and maybe slightly thinner FOAM (vs hard plastic) buffer so that it can compress, although a buffer actually isn't needed anyway.
