I have a 2022 Sport Quad cab. Every spring I get stone chips on the rocker panels which I have to touch up with a touchup pen. This is at the end of the rocker panels where the fin is spot welded together. I get a lot of snow where I live so I am in 4 wheel drive alot, which is what is causing all the stone chips.
Does anyone have recommendations on how to protect this fin from stones hitting? I was considering rock rails but am not sure if they even would cover the area I need covered. Plus there doesn't seem to be rock rails available for the quad cab. I also thought about the power running boards? Does anyone know if this would protect the rockers? Right now I don't have running boards or mud guards. My friend had the stock mud guards and the ice buildup in the wheel wells knocked them loose and they rubbed the paint off underneath the mud flaps so he had to get the whole bottom part of the truck repainted after 5 years.
Let me know if any of you have this issue and what you did to stop the paint chips.
