Correction:
3% will voice their support
94% will support but not say anything
3% so filled with media hate they will continue to recite it
This is an interesting observation - and likely close to fact (though I think the # that voice support versus the silent majority ratio is a little off).
It's not just this president that "brings out the ugly" in people. This has been going on since way before '16 - and has been brewing for quite some time.
I won't put a Trump sticker on my nice new truck. Nor would I ever even think of messing with someones car that has a Biden, Bernie or weathered Obama sticker on it - or someone's Biden lawn sign. Everyone has a right to express their views - even if I disagree with them. Yet it's THEM - that would damage my truck or steal my lawn sign.
People hold their tongues - for fear of getting fired, cancelled, harassed or even assaulted - for simply holding a different view from the angry mob - who are allowed to be violent and harrassing - without accountability by local authorities - where you cannot even sit in a restaurant (the ones that are actually open again), without being harassed by people that don't even know you (or what you may/not not stand for).
GOOD PEOPLE (on both sides of the spectrum) ARE WATCHING - they may not be TALKING - but they are WATCHING. Despite a statistically small, but very vocal MINORITY - the VAST AND SILENT MAJORITY (on both sides of the spectrum) are concerned by the same things: their health, their safety, the ability to keep a roof over their head and feed their families. BOTH SIDES of the political equation have the same basic concerns and needs - and, aside from the crazed and vocal minority - most of us are pretty "middle of the road" on most issues.
When people continue to spout the same crapola that has been documented in B&W to be false - I can't even work up anger for them - but PITY. It's truly sad when a logical examination of facts, still spout fallacies based on FEELINGS.
