Power Tune Programmers

The bypass is only used to be able to program. If you don’t have a WiTECH or a fca account with wifi compatible tool. You will not be allowed to access anything important.

You can get away with swapping ecm back to stock as long as you don’t tune the tcm. non oem Tcm file will be seen as corrupt. Then your caught.

In Your Opinion, If one Doesn't Mind Paying the Extra $600 "To Keep Their Original PCM", what's the Advantage to Doing so.?
The new PCM you receive has all the identifying decals removed since Diablo takes a PCM from someone else, does their magic on it, and then ships to a buyer who is doing a swap. So you have a generic PCM that is no longer specific to your truck. But I think the main benefit is if you were to sell your truck and knew you were buying another Ram, you could pull your new Ram’s PCM, and drop in the unlocked one (after Diablo confirms they have support for the new MY you purchased and you’re at a point in your ownership window where you feel comfortable installing the unlocked PCM). In short, pay once, use many times.

Ok so here’s the warranty for the 2020 gas trucks, there is a section specifically for what WILL 100% void the warranty and the only thing there is tampering with the Odometer. Here’s what it has to say regarding mods like tuners, “Performance or racing parts are considered to be non-FCA US LLC parts. Repairs or adjustments caused by their use are not covered under your warranties.” So basically, they can say no if you tune it and mess up the tranny or something downstream, but they should not be able to completely void the bumper to bumper warranty over something like that, but I could see them voiding the powertrain one which I think is more important. I thought there was a law about it being illegal to void warranties from unrelated mods but maybe I’m missing something. Anyways, I’m almost half way to 60,000 miles so I’m just going to wait until the warranty is gone :)

There is a federal law but they have deeper lawyer pockets and will drag it out until you give up. They have also voided entire warranties over stuff.

Interesting read. For those interested, look up the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. In a nutshell, it states that the dealership will have to prove with factual information that an installed aftermarket part caused the issue to void your warranty or something to that effect. So if your suspension buckles with the ECU installed it would still be covered. if you 86 a cam or lifter due to poor lubrication, it should be covered under warranty. However if you lean out the motor and cause catastrophic detonation in the engine they could link it to the ECU but would still have to produce factual information to prove that the tune and aftermarket ECU caused the issue. This is my understanding if it. There seems to be a lot of "grey area" when it comes to dealer warranties. In the end it usually depends on the dealership.
