Yeah, I noticed that. I don't like how they retract because you can see the pinch welds.

The Mopar boards cover them up.

Those hang much lower than the OEM steps. In your last pic they appear to hang below the frame even.

I took a good look and they're the same height as the frame. After using the steps for a few weeks, I am happy with the purchase. My mom also has a lot easier time getting into the truck. I think the platform is wider and lower than fixed steps. The good news is that I no longer need to carry a step stool in the bed of the truck.
