Two weeks ago, I took my 2019 DT Bighorn to my local dealership to have recall 75B (ABS Module Configuration) remedied. The next day, I was leaving Walmart and my truck's power steering did not work. I didn't think much of it, cycled the engine and upon restarting it, it worked just fine. The following day, after sitting overnight, I went out to start my truck in the morning and the power steering would not work whatsoever. I hooked my code scanner up and I am getting code U0131-00 and it looks like it is in the ABS side of things. Every day since then, my truck does not gain power steering until about 20min into my drive and it is like it just magically comes back on. I know it is dangerous potentially to drive without power steering but it is my only form of transportation and after that initial 15-20min, it will work for most of the day unless it sits for over an hour then it is like it resets back to how it is in the mornings.
Could it just be a coincidence that it has started after that recall "fix"? Could it be a ground issue? If so, where? Or is it anything else that I am overlooking? I don't think it is rack and pinion related due to it's intermittence and I also don't think it's fuse related because if it was I would think it would just quit working all together. Very weird situation.
I would like to note as well that once the power steering comes on, it stays on for the duration of the drive. I have had no issues driving and it cutting back off and I just drove to New Orleans from Kentucky and back this past week. The only time it potentially cuts off during a trip is if the truck is power cycled.
