Power mirrors won’t fold in or out?

Hello again. New member but not new to forums. I searched a couple times but didn’t see much on 5th Gen issues. I have a 2021 Limited EcoDiesel and I noticed several times that my power folding mirrors will initially fold in, then stay in. They won’t fold back out and when they finally do they won’t fold back in. Any one else have this issue or is it common. I’m taking the truck to the dealer in the next couple weeks so I’ll make an appt then. Just wondering. Thanks.

It's a well known problem with the plastic gears stripping out. An aftermarket company makes a steel gear replacement but you have to crack the gear housing apart to do the repair. Your dealer should be familiar with a warranty replacement of the whole mirror assembly if stripped gears are the problem.

I don’t believe it’s stripped gears. I rolled the windows down and don’t hear the motors turning at all when I press the button.
